Viking Line selects MediusFlow for accounts payable automation

11 December 2019

Medius, a global supplier of cloud-based source-to-pay solutions, proudly welcomes Viking Line, the market leading brand for passenger traffic on the Baltic Sea, to its customer base.

Viking Line, with operations in Sweden, Finland and Estonia, manages approximately 100,000 supplier invoices per year. The company previously handled invoice processing using a legacy accounts payable solution installed on premise at Viking Line that had not been upgraded in the past few years. This situation, combined with a high degree of manual steps in the invoice management process, created a clear need for a more modern solution with increased focus on automation at Viking Line.

Viking Line selected MediusFlow as their new AP automation solution, offering extensive opportunities to remove manual work – and more.

“In MediusFlow we found great possibilities to remove manual tasks, increase the automatic invoice matching rate and shorten lead times. In addition, in Medius we’ve now got a long-term partner who listens to our needs, challenges us and helps our team identify more opportunities to improve our invoice process efficiency”, says Jan Lindholm, Development Manager Finance, Viking Line.

Viking Line will deploy all automation functionality available within MediusFlow, from data capture and extraction to automatic matching to purchase orders or contracts and workflow automation for expense invoices. In addition, MediusFlow will help Viking Line increase control of indirect purchases with the MediusFlow procurement module. This set up enables pre-approved indirect purchases, ensuring the use of approved suppliers, and increasing the automation in the invoice management process.

”We are very happy to welcome Viking Line to MediusFlow’s growing customer community”, says Per Åkerberg, CEO at Medius. “We are convinced that our cloud solution will enable great efficiency gains at Viking Line right from the start, and increased automation over time thanks to the knowledge and best practice that we gather in our global customer community and continuously build into our solutions.”
